I’m looking forward to introducing you to Kenzie Rose. She’s a California girl who writes about love while listening to the waves crash.
Welcome Kenzie, tell us about your personal connection to the military?
My family always supports the Military. My husband’s father was in the Army and my Uncle who raised me was in the Navy, plus my husband’s best friend is a Marine.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where you’re from, where you live? Do you have one of those day-jobs?
I live on the Central Coast California, in a small town called Cambira. I work in a Tea Room that is in an Plein Air Art Gallery which allows me to write when it is quiet. I love to set in the Human Nests that we have in the courtyard.
Tell us about your latest release and share one detail from your current release with readers that they might not find in the book?
My latest release is Unexpected Love, a novella that takes place during book 2 of my series, The Vineyards of Love Series. I felt like the characters had a story to tell but not a full book. Originally this book was going to be called “Best Night Ever” After the song by Lady Antebellum and the story was going to be about the night that this couple meet and fall in love unexpectedly.
Sounds dreamy. Do you have a secret talent readers would be surprised by?
I was a baton twirler in High School and I can twirl fire.
No kidding, I’m not sure I’ve ever met a baton twirler! What’s the most difficult thing about writing characters of the opposite sex?
Making sure I make the character sound like a guy. Not giving him female traits.
So tell me, do you write military characters in your books? If so, how did you research them?
I have a character that is recurring in my series that will be getting a book. I look forward to telling his story. I talk to my husband’s best friend who is a Marine and some of the officers my husband works with in Law Enforcement that are Veterans. Plus, a lot of internet searches, just to see how the servicemen deal with day to day things when they are deployed.
I love talking to our military members, so many stories to tell. Do you have anything you would like to say to our members of the military and their families?
We all know words are not enough to express what you and your family go through day to day. But, Thank you for your sacrifice and your service.
